Cemetery Regulations

EDWARDS GROVE CEMETERY

  1. No person shall play a radio, picnic, lounge, loaf or carry a firearm within the cemetery. However, firearms carried for the purpose of Military funerals or by other authorized persons, are permitted.
  2. No dogs are permitted in the cemetery unless confined to a vehicle. Horse, pony or recreational vehicle riding in the cemetery are strictly prohibited.
  3. No person shall maliciously damage, deface, or disturb any marker, monument, mausoleum, grave or the grounds of the cemetery.
  4. No monuments or markers to be installed in the cemetery without proper foundations. All monument foundations are to be installed by a person or persons approved by the board of trustees and said foundations shall project four (4) inches in all directions beyond the monument or marker base. The top of the foundation is to be flush with the surrounding terrain.
  5. Should any monument, marker, or mausoleum become unsightly, dilapidated or a menace to visitors, the trustees have the right to correct the condition or remove same.
  6. Any person engaged in the construction or erection of monuments or markers who damages monuments, markers, trees, shrubs, sod or ground shall be held accountable by the trustees.
  7. The board of trustees is authorized to prevent the erection of monuments or markers or any other construction at a time when damage will be done to drives and sod because of wet ground conditions.
  8. No curbing, fencing, hedging or enclosures , of any kind are permitted around any lot.
  9. The board of trustees reserve the right to cut, trim or remove any tree, shrub or bush now planted which becomes unkempt or unsightly.
  10. No trees, shrubs or bushes may be planted other than annual flowers.
  11. Cut flowers are permitted at all times as long as they are in approved containers and are not unsightly. Glass containers not permitted.
  12. Artificial flowers are permitted at all times but must be removed when they become faded or unsightly. Winter wreathes and floral arrangements must be removed by May 1.
  13. May 1 of each year a general spring cleanup shall be given the cemetery. All pots, seasonal decorations, flower boxes or any deteriorated or unsightly flower arrangements shall be removed by the caretaker.
  14. No person shall be buried in the cemetery without an approved vault, with the exception of an urn containing the ashes of a loved one.
  15. No pets or animals of any kind are permitted to be buried in the cemetery.
  16. Only the person or persons approved by the board of trustees shall be permitted to dig graves and that person or persons shall be responsible for removing all excess dirt.
  17. The cemetery is closed from dusk to dawn every day.
  18. Any person found to have violated any of the above regulations will be fined an amount as determined by the board of trustees.
